West Bank Developments

The governor of Hebron announced that Israeli forces have withdrawn from the occupied West Bank city. This follows a major military operation lasting nearly two weeks. Governor Khaled Dudin told Al Jazeera that Palestinian security forces now maintain complete control over the area. He added that local families who were previously forced to flee their homes are finally able to return.

In Yemen, at least seven people sustained injuries from airstrikes. The Saudi-led coalition launched these raids on the Hodeidah governorate, according to news channels affiliated with the Houthis. Meanwhile, the coalition reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile targeting southern Saudi Arabia.

Yemen and Maritime Security

At sea, the UK Maritime Trade Operations agency reported a separate security incident. An oil tanker heading southeast through the Gulf was struck on its port side by two unidentified projectiles. The attack occurred 72 nautical miles east of Ras al-Khafji. Authorities confirmed that all crew members were safely accounted for and no environmental damage has been reported so far.

Diplomatic Tensions and US Stance

On the diplomatic front, Anwar Gargash, an adviser to the UAE president, addressed the IISS Manama Dialogue. He stated that the United Arab Emirates anticipates a diplomatic breakdown in the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States. Gargash emphasized that his nation remains prepared for the worst-case scenario and will take necessary precautions to protect itself and its citizens.

US President Donald Trump renewed his threats regarding military action against Iran. Speaking at a political rally in Iowa, Trump suggested the United States might eventually have to strike Tehran hard. „The only reason I'm not finished with Iran is that I want to be good. I want to try to save all those lives if I can... But at some point, we'll have to give them the hammer,”Trump declared.
